STRUNK RACING

From Cul-de-sac to one of the fastest Lighting Sprints in the Midwest.

I first met Brad some 12 years ago when I was selling my bachelor pad in the suburbs of Cincinnati. I am pretty sure we both lost on that sale but it started quite an interesting relationship for years to come. Brad did a professional move that I still use today - sometimes its the effort you show your client and not anticipating any reward. Through my next purchase I got to know Brad and his back story from professional MOTOCROSS racing, kids and working as a Realtor. Now through the years I have given Brad some nice leads and anyone who knows me they get qualified with a few quick questions. 1. Are you ready to sell your house - 2. Are you ready to buy a house 3. If so, then I have a guy for you otherwise don’t waste his time because he will do it at full speed.

Enough back story - The reason I have a section called Strunk Racing as this is what natiTHREADS is all about. Working through daily life to be active and achieve something uncommon.

At age 16 Brad began his semi-professional racing career a year and a half later he finished HS early to chase a dream. This dream lasted from 1991 to 2002 when he decided to hang it up and become that family man. His path took him to Real-estate and working with some local motorsports friends until he branched out on his own. I measure success differently than most but I think the passion you see in his life will make that assumption for you.

From doing the family thing wife, two kids in sports all that jazz Brad came to the realization that his kids may not have the same passion for competition as him (this is a high bar his daughter is a D-1 SEC soccer player and his son is going for it in Basketball) so he started looking into what would drive him next. I played golf with him and I knew that would only go so far. Then one day he went to a couple regional Lighting Sprint Car race his old MX buddy that was running and there it goes. Weeks later in Brad fashion he drops 8k on a car of his own (no motor, no truck, no trailer) and off he goes. He puts the car in the garage (honey I bought a race car), installs a motor to later borrow a truck and trailer so he can go to the track. He made the feature that night finishing 5th. The next 9 races he wins 3 and the Cul-de-sac kid is born (He likes “Thunder Strunk”) - from the garage from 2015-2017 he continues to work on his craft. In 2017 he upgrades to newer car for both him and his son (his son later wants to focus on Basketball) making STRUNK RACING. In 2018 he wins the 2018 AMS Light Sprint Series, then 2019 a Lightning Sprint National. In 2020 his sells off his set to go to a bigger series later to move back to Lightning Sprints.

This is where we take a minute. A midlife crisis doesn't mean you have to falter, change your life or go bankrupt. The goal here is for everyone to find a new challenge. What Brad found out was the higher series was way to much of a commitment and having that balance is key. So Brad moves back to a two car team has a second driver enlisted and off he goes. This is all still happening in a very nice burb of Cincinnati under his 3 car garage - down right awesome. So in late 2020 I catch up with Brad, he his building his new cars and I am messing around with natiTHREADS. We meet up for a couple of lunches and I begin to be one of his sponors by supplying him apparel for his team. I hope you all have some time to take a look at STRUNK RACING on Facebook - he is looking to win his series this year and has a lot of videos of his wins this season.

Maybe this inspires you to take a look at what may make you take a run at something new.

Brad, thank you for the time to interview you and the honesty you always show - one awesome dude with a passion to win at everything.
